Rowena Lee grew up in a family of readers and in a home full of books, so reading has always been an important part of her life. After teacher training, Rowena completed an Arts degree majoring in English Literature, a Master’s degree in Educational Administration and spent more than 40 years in schools. Currently, she lectures and tutors in the primary education program at Macquarie University. Since retiring as Headmaster of Sydney Grammar School St Ives Preparatory School, Rowena has established Middlemarch Reading and Books. Through parent talks and reading guides, she promotes the joys of reading with young children and supports parents as their children’s first educators, in the selection and reading aloud of quality literature.
