Bishop Philip Huggins was ordained in 1977, and has held clerical appointments in regional Victoria, metropolitan Melbourne, as well as appointments as Assistant Bishop in Perth and Bishop of Grafton, NSW. He returned to Melbourne in 2003 and is responsible for the northern and western regions of Melbourne and Geelong.
Bishop Philip is Chair of the Brotherhood of St Laurence, President of Lowther Hall Anglican Grammar School, and Board Member of St Lawrence Community Services, Overnewton Anglican Community College, Executive member of the National Council of Churches of Australia, and Member of Christian World Service Commission. He has Episcopal oversight of Cross-Cultural Ministry. Bishop Philip has a strong interest in and actively contributes to welfare and multi-cultural issues and activities. Bishop Philip is married to Liz who is a psychologist. They have three adult sons.
