I have difficulty finding a foundation I really like. I would actually put myself in the ‘picky’ category when it comes to make-up generally.
For me, I want a foundation that makes me look fresh and not as old as I feel naturally. My skin is sensitive and does react to some, so it’s content is important also. I also wanted something with an SPF that protected my face from sun damage and minimised ageing.
I decided to give the BareMineral Originals SPF 15 Foundation a go after being disappointed with the Clinique foundation I’d been using more recently and various other brands before that.
I’ve found that it gives great coverage with a naturally luminous finish that doesn't clump or cake. The creamy minerals do seem to diminish the look of fine lines and wrinkles without drying out your skin.
It’s silky, soft texture looks like a powder, but feels like a cream. I also like the fact that it’s made with high quality ingredients and free of preservatives, talc, oil, waxes, fragrances, and other chemicals that can cause breakouts.
It’s great for everyday wear and lasts the whole day. It feels light, does not irritate or congest my sensitive skin and gives a very nice medium coverage.
I do use a concealer with it to cover up the black circles around my eyes and red blotches that appear as well.
The only complaint I do have about the product is that you can get a bit shiny across the forehead, but that’s the only negative thing I’d say.
Available from light to tan, the BareMinerals Originals Foundation retails for $34.95.
I give it 4 stars and recommend it other mums looking for an affordable everyday foundation that delivers a natural glow to your skin.
