The arrival of NAPLAN Student Reports has been delayed until the week commencing 13 October 2013.
The decision to delay the release was made by the Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority (ACARA) after they identified an error in the background sheet on one aspect of the Year 5 and 7 NAPLAN Student Reports for Language Conventions.
The error occurred during the process of preparing and distributing the Student Reports, and the revised date takes into account the September/October school holidays.
The NAPLAN Summary Report will still be released on 13 September and there are no impacts on those states and territories wishing to release NAPLAN data via their data analysis packages.
Chief Executive Officer of ACARA, Robert Randall, said it was important to note that there are no issues with actual NAPLAN results for students or schools.
“The decision I have taken today reflects the importance that ACARA places on the integrity and accuracy of the NAPLAN Student Reports,” said Randall.
“I acknowledge the inconvenience and regret the disruption this will cause, but this is the right decision to make. We are working closely with the Test Administration Authorities in each state and territory and they will be in contact with schools to communicate the situation.”
