There’s no better time to step off the well-trodden tourist track with the launch of the Shoalhaven 100 Beach Challenge. Whether you’re old school, and tick off beaches on our print out, or tech savvy and sign up to the geo-locative game for smart phones or devices, adventure awaits. Grab the car keys, play your favourite tunes and discover new secluded swimming spots and uncover hidden treasures along the way – with categories for families, photographers, adventurers and more – there’s something for everyone.
Whether you’ve been to the Shoalhaven many times before, or it’s your first visit, the beaches and our laid back coastal vibes are waiting for you!
The Shoalhaven 100 Beach Challenge is the perfect way to create new memories as a family. Bundle up the kids and head to the Shoalhaven for some family fun. Discover beaches with shade from overhanging bush so close to the water you can sit while the kids paddle in safe, still water; visit the sting rays while you look through crystal blue water at Bendalong; or build sandcastles and find crabs and other sea life in a new rock pool! Why not create a mini-competition with other families, seeing how many beaches you can tick off to secure a place at the top of the Leaderboard?
Participating in the Shoalhaven 100 Beach Challenge is easy.
For the tech-savvy, log onto the website [100beachchallenge.com] via an email address or social media account and navigate to the checkpoint of your chosen beach. When you’re 500 metres away, the camera on your smart phone or device will launch. Snap a pic and share it on Facebook and Instagram with the #100beachchallenge, check the beach off your list, and head to the next one. To add to the fun, the Leaderboard section of the website will show you whether you’re on your way to being the top scorer!

We’re proud to have so many amazing beach spots here so we wanted to make it easy for everyone who visits the region to be aware of and experience all we have to offer, especially those that are hidden secrets.
She continues: “We’re encouraging people to use the hashtag #100beachchallenge when posting their beach images on Facebook and Instagram. Then everyone can see the beauty of the Shoalhaven’s beaches which truly offer sand and sea for everyone.”
