Whenever Fridays roll around
I begin to take hold
Of all the busy things we did
And the achievements unfold.
A sense of relief takes over me
The stresses of the week reduce
Because Fridays have a special feel
Soon we can all cut loose.
Fridays mean no more homework
The kids can relax and play
The busyness of school
Just begins to fade away.
Friday is the weekday that means
No culinary feats for tea
It is the one night of the week
We buy takeaway, you see.
For Fridays mean the end of alarm clock shock
And the start of frolicking and play
Throughout the weekend, lazing about
For two complete whole days.
We know when Fridays come around
There’s special times ahead
For having family outings
Enjoying quality time instead.
So whenever Mondays come around
There’s no need to despair
For soon the days will disappear
Friday will come again; walking on air!
