7 things to say to kids to get natural looking shots of them... (hint - it's not smile!)
1. "If I was a fruit/animal/car what would I be?" Snap away as they think and when they crack themselves up with the answer.
2. "What's your favourite thing about your brother/sister?" This will either get a massive laugh or a very sweet expression.
3. "Can you see a fairy/dinosaur inside my camera?" As long as they don't lunge towards your camera this can get a lovely excited look!
4. "Close your eyes and on the count of 3 open them up and look at me. 1, 2, 3 open" This is a good one if they're all hyper and you want them to calm down and give you a more sedate look.
5. "Nobody smile until I say the magic word, you'll know if when you hear it.... no smiling, no smiling, NO SMILING!!! OK - Princess farty pants!" Insert any kind of poo/fart joke here and quickly get the shot as they laugh.
6. "What's your favourite animal/food/book?" Take the photo as they're thinking for a nice contemplative look.
7. "Pull the silliest face you can think of" Once they've done it they usually crack up laughing which is the moment to take the photo
