Christmas is a very exciting time of year for children and parents alike.

It’s always special getting together with family and enjoying each other’s company. But there are things you can do to make the day even more fun and memorable.

Here are four things you can do to make your Christmas extra special this year.

1. Decorate the whole house

If you want to make Christmas extra special, then the decorations shouldn’t just be limited to the tree. Decorate the whole house!

You can hang tinsel and decorations from windowsills, hang stockings, put up lights, and more. Don’t forget to put a festive wreath on the front door as well.

If you’re feeling especially keen, you can decorate your front yard or even make an elaborate music and lights display!

2. Choose the music

Everyone one has different opinions about Christmas music. Some people like the classics like Bing Crosby while others prefer modern artists like Michael Bublé.

If you have teenage children, it could be difficult to find music that everyone can agree on.

But there’s so much variety that you should be able to find some common ground or make a playlist that has a bit of something for everyone.

3. Get Christmas costumes

One of the best ways to make this Christmas extra special is to have Santa Claus himself show up!

But why stop there? Mrs Claus can be there too, the pets can be reindeer, and your kids can dress up as elves to help hand out presents.

There are plenty of fun Christmas costumes you can wear to add to the festivities this year.

You can keep them just for home or even wear them to Christmas events or even go carolling in them.

4. Cook a Christmas feast

Everyone knows how important food is for Christmas, but there’s still the big question of what kind of food you want to have.

The traditions of roast turkey and ham come from the northern hemisphere where Christmas is a lot colder. While these traditions are delicious, they don’t exactly fit with Australian climate. The other option that has become an Australian tradition is to have lots of seafood and fresh berries.

There are no wrong answers when it comes to Christmas food. As long everyone has the dietary requirements and allergies considered then whatever Christmas food you choose will be perfect.
