Catch the most anticipated flicks of the season before they hit the cinemas with Moonlight’s bumper program of advanced screenings. Find out What Men Want in Hollywood’s hilarious new remake starring Taraji P. Henson; see Natalie Portman like you’ve never seen her before in Vox Lux, a rock-world melodrama that already has the critics squealing with joy; or for a more inspirational night out, On the Basis of Sex offers a glimpse into the early career of gender-rights crusader Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
Families will be spoilt for choice this February with a huge selection of kid friendly and fun films. Join the enigmatic Mary Poppins on a new whimsical adventure in the hit film Mary Poppins Returns; surf the World Wide Web in Ralph Breaks the Internet; discover a dragon utopia in How to Train your Dragon: The Hidden World; and get revved for the Transformer’s family-friendly spin-off Bumblebee.
Family saver passes to select G and PG rated films at Moonlight are also offered at a special discount, so it’s one of the most affordable outings a family of four can have!
New releases are a staple at Moonlight and February’s program is no different. Witness Margot Robbie’s stark transformation into Queen Elizabeth I alongside Saoirse Ronan in Mary Queen of Scots; see Viggo Mortensen and Mahershala Ali in Green Book as they develop an unexpected bond in an era of segregation; or enter the twisted mind of M. Night Shyamalan in Glass, a comic-book thriller that brings together the narratives of two of his standout films Unbreakable and Split.
On Thursday 7 February, gather your mates for a musical night out with a special sing-a-long screening of Bohemian Rhapsody. Watch 2018’s incredible Queen biopic whilst belting out all your favourite tunes like Don’t Stop Me Now, We Will Rock You and Somebody to Love. A truly unmissable experience if you’re a fan of incredible films and even better music.
On Sunday 3 February, Moonlight will screen the stunning and intimate documentary Free Solo*. With a 98% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and a slew of international awards, Free Solo is an unflinching portrait of the free soloist climber Alex Honnold, as he prepares to achieve his lifelong dream: climbing the face of the world's most famous rock, the 3,000ft El Capitan in Yosemite National Park, without a rope.
If your idea of romance is Ryan Gosling shirtless doing the Dirty Dancing lift with Emma Stone, then Moonlight’s Valentine’s Day screening of the comedy Crazy, Stupid, Love is the ideal date night flick. Other fan favourite films include Meryl Streep as the ultimate diabolical boss in The Devil Wears Prada and the fantastical cult hit The Princess Bride.
