The sun is shining, the birds are singing...and you don’t really notice because your house is suffering from chaos every morning. Don’t worry, you’re not alone. It happens in the best families. However, there’s a better way to start the day. Little by little, here are our tips to make your mornings easier.
1. Go to bed earlier. If you stay up, it’s impossible not to feel exhausted in the mornings. Same rule for kids, of course.
2. Make sure nothing bothers your sleep. The shutters are broken and light wakes you up? Fix them. Mattress gives you backpain? Get one that doesn’t. Little adjustments can make a big difference.
3. Get up earlier. It’s the other side of the coin. This way, morning activities will be more peaceful than before. More time, more peace of mind.
4. Develop a routine. Observate, then implement. It’ll be hard for the first couple of days, but stick to it.
5. Print the routine, make it visible to everyone in the house. Leave it until everyone memorizes it.
6. Observe and find out where are the weak points. Discuss and adjust.
7. Plan in advance. Lunches can be planned on a weekly basis instead of a daily basis. Save precious minutes!
8. Encourage your kid’s responsibility. You don’t need to be after them ALL the time. Let them learn how to solve things and you’ll see the difference.
9. Show your kids how to prepare their clothes for the next morning. Make it a fun activity before bedtime, they’ll love it.
10. If something can be synchronized it should be synchronized. Assign turns, organize the routine, set up do’s and don’ts. Your body and mind will thank you!
