Toys“R”Us has released a list of the top 20 toys sold over the past two decades – with many old favourites still close to our hearts.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have topped the list, followed by LEGO, Furby, Star Wars Action Figures and Transformers. Barbie, Elmo, Power Rangers and Toy Story have also made it into the top 20.
“We’ve taken a trip down memory lane to determine some of the top toys from the last two decades that are still a hit today,” says Brooklyn Troy-Nicholas from Toys“R”Us.
“Cabbage Patch Dolls and LEGO to name but a few – are still amongst the most popular toys today.”
“Despite the rise of technology over the last two decades, toys like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Super Soakers and Elmo have stood the test of time and don’t look like slowing down.”
“Whether it is the nostalgia of parents passing on their favourite toys to their children or the timeless nature of some of the classics – it’s wonderful to see that many of the old favourites still have a place in kids and parent’s hearts,” said Troy-Nicholas
