Do you know someone expecting a baby? If so, this idea of Jenna Lewski's might be just the thing.
When Jenna became a mum, she realised that well-meaning people gave gifts she already had or didn't want.
"After having a baby, I realised that people spend hundreds of dollars buying you gifts, most of which may never be used, are not necessary, not to your taste or sometimes, unfortunately, duplicates of what you have."
So Jenna create RockaBub - a website that works just like a wedding registry to make it easy for family and friends to buy a gift for the newborn (or yet-to-be-born) that is pre-selected by the parents or expecting parents.
"I wanted to make it easier for mums as well as for the people buying gifts."
RockaBub has a number of features which Jenna says are practical and helpful, such as the 'gift share' function.
"Our eyes almost popped when we saw how much prams cost. They're fantastic, but a big expense for new parents. The gift share function helps combat this kind of financial hurdle by allowing more expensive gifts to be split or shared amongst a number of people."
Another features is the 'pre-selected gift packages' which are the bare necessities needed with a new baby.
"Many first time mums find this quite overwhelming, so we have a checklist which helps them track what they've got and also ensure there's nothing forgotten."
Jenna says her ultimate aim is to make things easier for mums and dads. "RockaBub is easy to use and it's all about giving new parents more time to focus on what's really important - preparing for their new baby."
