Even if you never get around to writing the book that we’re told each of us has inside us, you can at least tell a story to create your own living history.
That’s the premise of today’s Motherpedia gift suggestion from Leaf Journals.
“Leaf was created out of an idea that we need a new way to record, share and preserve our stories. Through Leaf, it is my aim to help you share your stories and celebrate your life, now and for generations to come”, says Leaf founder, Cath Connell.
Leaf Story Starters are packs of cards which help you tell the story you want to tell. Each of the six adult and two kids packs come with theme cards and story starters which you can use to break the ice with strangers, get to know people better or just to deepen your relationship with friends and family. They could also help you get started if you want to write your own journal or blog.
Cath says there’s so many ways to use them.
“It might be around the family Christmas table, or at a girls night out, networking events, a baby shower or any number of occasions.
“We often forget that we have stories to tell, even simple ones such as ‘How did you meet dad?’ ‘What was I like when I was a baby?’ ‘What did you play with in the old days?’”
The themes covered in the Story Starters include travel, food, life, romance, girl talk and children. The two children’s themes include a junior girl talk and kids stuff, both for 7-14 year olds.
The Story Starter packs are available through selected stockists or you can buy them direct online via the Leaf Journal website for $19.95 plus postage and handling. (Cath says $1 from every purchase is put towards education for girls in a developing nation).
