Chocolate cherries
Chocolate Cherries are one of the famous and most liked confectionary on Valentine’s Day or Christmas. They are simply a treat for chocolate lovers. It is so easy to make that you don’t need to buy expensive boxes every time. With little efforts and with even little ingredients, you can make the delicious chocolate cherries at home. Without wasting any more time, let us start with the recipe method.

Ingredients for Chocolate Cherries

12 glace cherries

2 table spoon rum or brandy

250 g (9 oz.) marzipan

125 g (5.5 oz.) plain chocolate

Extra milk

Optional plain or white chocolate for decoration

The above ingredient measurement makes 24 pieces.

Method for Chocolate Cherries

Step 1

Line a baking sheet with a sheet of baking parchment.

Step 2

Cut the glace cherries in half and plane in a small bowl. Add the rum or brandy and stir to coat. Let the cherries soak for at least 1 hour and stir them occasionally.

Step 3

Divide the marzipan into 24 pieces and roll each piece into a ball. Press half a cherry into the centre of each of the marzipan ball.

Step 4

Break the chocolate into pieces, place in a bowl and set over a saucepan of hot water. Keep it stirring until it is melted.

Step 5

Dip each marzipan ball into the melted chocolate using a tooth pick. Allow the excess of the chocolate to drip back into the bowl.

Step 6

Place the coated cherries on the baking parchment and chill until set.

Step 7

If wished, melt a little extra chocolate and drizzle it over the top of the coated cherries.
Set them aside until they are set.

Chocolate cherries are a must for chocoholics, and now there is no reason not to have it made at home. The good thing is that you can make dozens of them at a time and are perfect as a Valentine gift or presenting to your family and friends on Christmas or any other festival.
