In an unusually frank interview with DuJour magazine, Nicole Kidman says she would have gone to the ends of the earth for her ex-husband Tom Cruise.
The Australian actress was 23 when she married Cruise in 1990. Their union lasted a decade and they adopted two children before they split citing irreconcilable differences.
"I fell madly, passionately in love. I was reeling with Tom. I would have gone to the ends of the earth for him," she is quoted as saying in the interview. "We were in a bubble, just the two of us. We became very dependent on one another."
The 45-year-old star thought her life with Cruise was "perfect" and that she was stunned and devastated when the marriage came to an end.
Kidman is now married to country singer Keith Urban and they raise two daughters together. She has previously said very little about her marriage to Cruise, one of the most powerful and popular movie stars in the world.
She said she is thrilled to have been given another shot at happiness with Urban, saying he is "wonderful and caring" and has changed her life.
Kidman also spoke about the experience of giving birth to her daughter Sunday Rose in 2008.
"It took me so long to have a child. I feel enormous gratitude," she added. "Sunday has healed an enormous amount in me. It's a very private thing, but she just has."
