Shooting for the fourth series will start in Melbourne in December, produced again by John Edwards. The next two seasons will comprise 26 more episodes, so the Proudman family can continue to reveal their next messy and complicated chapters of life.
The third season of Offspring ended on Wednesday night and drew an average capital city audience of around 987,000.
Ten's chief programming officer David Mott says the confidence the network has shown in asking for two more series of Offspring shows it is serious about making local dramas.
The latest announcement followed the network's commitment to making Puberty Blues, Underground: The Julian Assange Story, Reef Doctors and Mr and Mrs Murder.
"Our audience truly connects with the vibrant, bold and complex characters they have come to know and love over the past three years. We can't wait to see what's next for Australia's favourite family," Mott said in a statement.
