Except for her son, Matthew, Newton has spoken about the crises in her life, including her granddaughter's frightening health problems, on 2day FM's Kyle and Jackie O show on Wednesday.
"I think maybe I've stepped on someone's toes, we've had major dramas in every direction, Bert (Newton) hasn't been too well ... my daughter (Lauren) ... had a beautiful girl three weeks ago, Lola Patricia, she's divine. Three days ago we were in the bathroom, Lauren had just fed her, we were talking and she stopped breathing, we had to whip her off to the children's hospital. She only came home last night. We've all been very worried about her," Newton said.
"She's (Lola) done it a couple of times, they don't know what it was, they test for heart and lungs ... being so young they're very conservative, things may not have developed because she was a bit early coming."
Newton, who is starring in the Nine Network's new Celebrity Apprentice, also said that she's been suffering from scary amnesia attacks, which struck her on the night of the Logies.
"I got back to the hotel, I was feeling a bit tired, went to bed, in the middle of the bed felt sick, got up, had an amnesia attack, didn't know where I was or what I was doing ... in the morning I was fine, I didn't even know it had happened ... I thought someone has been sick in my room .. but then I thought, I think it's me. That was a bit of a scary moment," Newton said.
The interview was conducted as US prosecutors appear set to go ahead with resisting arrest and trespassing charges against Newton's troubled son Matthew.
A hearing date has been scheduled for May 16 in Miami's Richard E. Gerstein Justice Building after the 35-year-old was charged and spent a day in jail for allegedly refusing to leave Mr Moe's Restaurant and Bar earlier this month.
