Pregnancy has done nothing to dent the Kate-effect. On Friday, the Duchess of Cambridge stepped out in the pictured polka dot outfit at the new Warner Brothers film studios in London.
Within an hour, the dress had sold out online and copycat versions were being sold on eBay for $150. The Duchess reportedly purchased the dress at Topshop in Oxford Circus last month, when she made an unannounced shopping trip with security staff.
The 'Kate effect' is making money for other brands including: Zara, LK Bennett, J Brand, Issa, Reiss and Alexander McQueen.
And now the expecting mother’s baby purchases are attracting a lot of attention across the globe. It was reported in The Mail on Sunday that she’d purchased a baby blue Bugaboo buggy fuelling speculation about the baby's gender despite the Duke and Duchess insisting they do not know if they are having a girl or boy.
But it’s not just fashion brands feeling the impact benefiting from the ‘Kate-effect’.
The Duchess is also getting involved in worthy causes.
Scouts have reaped rewards, reporting a surge in members and adult volunteers since the Duchess of Cambridge joined the ranks last year.
Today, she delivered her first public address as a Royal to mark Children’s Hospice Week.
