Jessica Mauboy is encouraging Australian communities to support their local schools or early learning centres by collecting Earn & Learn points when they shop at Woolworths.
Mauboy who has been appointed ambassador of the program now in its third year, which enables schools to redeem their Woolworths Earn & Learn points for educational, sporting, art and musical resources and equipment.
It’s a busy time for Mauboy with her recent appointment as a mentor on Channel Nine’s program The Voice, where she will join the show’s newest judge, international pop star Ricky Martin, and provide guidance and advice to contestants during the battle rounds.
“I’m so proud to be part of such an important community initiative that supports the next generation of Australian kids. I went to a small school in Darwin and was lucky to have some amazing teachers who inspired and supported me to reach my goals.
“In fact, I even wanted to become a teacher! As the ambassador of Woolworths Earn & Learn, I want to encourage communities across Australia to support their local schools and early learning centres so we can all play a role in nurturing the talent of Aussie kids.”
“I love that it’s so easy for everyone to get involved, simply by collecting Woolworths Earn & Learn points when they do their grocery shop,” said Mauboy.
In 2012, the program provided 720,000 pieces of educational equipment to more than 12,500 schools.
From today until Sunday 9 June 2013, Woolworth shoppers can collect Earn & Learn points for their local school to redeem against the thousands of resources and products available.
The program is open to all primary and secondary schools in Australia as well as Early Learning Centres.
Every $10 spent at Woolworths will earn one Woolworths Earn & Learn point that schools, once registered, can redeem for educational, sporting, art and musical resources and equipment.
