Like any new mum, singer-songwriter Alicia Keys is inspired by her two year old son, Egypt and launches an interactive App today just for kids.
With an unlikely name of The Journals of Mama Mae and LeeLee, the App is about the relationship between a girl from New York City and her wise grandmother.
Keys says it's a story that mirrors her life - grandma always knows best.
Throughout the App, the nurturing gradma character continues to offer words of comfort and wisdom, as well as a shoulder to cry on and someone who will listen.
LeeLee's bedroom is the hub of the App which also features original music from Keys and musical instruments that denote different characters.
"It's a new adventure for me and I'm really enjoying it," Keys said.
"I thought how cool it would be to be part of something that really allows kids to hear music from different places, different culture, different sounds. That's what we're able to do with this."
Keys has won 14 Grammy Awards and her 5th album is due for release at the end of the month. The App is available on iTunes.
