The tattooed soccer ace - who has often wowed fans by posing in his pants - topped the inaugural "hottest hunks in the world" list compiled by Heat magazine.
Second place in the list went to movie star Ryan Gosling, with Ryan Reynolds in third spot.
Easy-on-the-eye screen star Robert Pattinson came in at sixth place, while Johnny Depp came in just above Jackman in eighth place.
The list was compiled from reader votes and an expert panel including a modelling agency boss and a celebrity photographer who judged the men on talent, dress sense, sex appeal and personality.
LA Galaxy star Beckham was one of three Brits to make the top 10, joining Pattinson and Tom Hardy (seven).
"He's got the lot - talent, style, sex appeal, charisma. Women adore him, men want to be him, and we're absolutely thrilled that he has topped our poll," Heat editor Lucie Cave said of winner Beckham.
The full list is in the new edition of the magazine, which is out on Tuesday.
