Going to a large city such as Sydney with kids in tow can often be a bit difficult when it comes to finding interesting and fun things to do together as a family. When you take your family on a city break, there’s often less to do in the way of kids’ activities, and more when it comes to shopping, dining out and drinking. But, with little ones getting bored easily when it comes to sitting through adult activities, it’s good for parents to know where the best places in Sydney are when it comes to ensuring that their little ones are also enjoying the trip and having fun. We’ve put together a list of some of the best things to do with children when visiting Sydney.

Tours and Trips

Taking a tour around Sydney that caters for both adults and kids can be an excellent way to see and get as much as possible out of the city. When it comes to Sydney tours, there are plenty of activity-based tours to choose from which kids and teens will enjoy. Walking tours, boating tours, and cycling tours can all be enjoyed by the whole family, and of course there are also tourist activities along the way that you can take part in, for example visiting local museums or the zoo.

Playgrounds

If you’re looking for somewhere that your little ones can go to in order to let off some steam whilst you can wind down and relax, you’ll be glad to hear that Sydney is home to a range of great playgrounds for kids. Blaxland Riverside Park is one of the more popular choices with parents, as this outdoor adventure centre has got so much for kids to do, and plenty that adults can take part in, too. With tree houses, picnic areas, swings, slides and much more, this park is the perfect place to take your little ones for a fun, memorable and inexpensive family day out in Sydney.

Waterparks

If you’re planning to visit Sydney with your family during the warmer months, a visit to one of the city’s renowned waterparks is probably on your list of to-do’s. When it comes to aquatic centres and waterparks, Sydney has some of the best in the world. One of these is the Botany Aquatic Centre, which is locally known as ‘Botany Big Splash’. Along with fun and games inside, the centre also hosts two large outdoor swimming pools, a shaded, heated children’s outdoor pool, and a large, grassy area that’s designed for barbecues and family picnics. Along with that, there are also plenty of safe places for little ones to play whilst you relax, making it a fun and enjoyable choice for a family day out.

Finding things to do with kids in a big city can often be tricky, but parents visiting Sydney will be glad to hear that there are plenty of things that their little ones can take part in, including tours, waterparks, and even huge playgrounds.
