Moonlight Cinema’s summer of blockbusters shows no signs of slowing down with the announcement of their March program in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth. With March marking the last month of Moonlight’s 2016/17 season, there’s just a few weeks left to soak up some top notch cinema in stunning parkland settings.
Only a few months into the year, Moonlight is set to screen 2017’s hottest films. March brings advanced screenings of The Lego Batman Movie, the haunting thriller A Cure for Wellness, DreamWorks’ Animation latest comedy, The Boss Baby and Their Finest, a period jaunt starring Bill Nighy where a British film crew make a propaganda film to boost morale during WW2. Also getting an advanced screening is the adaptation of the cult Japanese manga hit starring Scarlett Johansson, Ghost in the Shell together with the most anticipated film of the year, the live action remake of Beauty and The Beast starring Emma Watson.
New release Aussie films also preview at Moonlight in March. In the sequel to the worldwide hit A Few Best Men comes A Few Less Men that sees David, Tom and Graham transporting their mate’s coffin back to London after a forced plane landing strands them in the middle of the Australian bush. Fans of the hit show Dance Academy will rejoice with the cult television show getting its movie spinoff debut at Moonlight.
Families looking for a weekend activity to do together will be well catered for at Moonlight in March. Catch films like Trolls, The Boss Baby and The Lego Batman Movie, and the all new Family Pass means a family of four can enjoy Moonlight Cinema together for just $50.
There’s also your favourite cult films on offer every Thursday for those who love a classic. Unleash your inner Fat Amy and belt out a tune during a screening of Pitch Perfect. Play truant and hang out with Ferris Bueller’s Day Off or let your freak flag fly with The Rocky Horror Picture Show. The first cult classic screening for March is the 1991 Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze surf action classic, Point Break. Ahead of the Point Break screening in Sydney only, Moonlight will screen the 2017 finalist films for Corona Extra presents REELERS, the most prestigious surf short film competition.
As always Moonlight cinema is a BYO friendly event*, but no sweat if you forget your picnic spread and sparkling; The Moonlight food truck and fully licensed bar will be serving up scrumptious LA-style snacks to compliment the sizzling summer cinema experience.
Audiences can tuck into a delicious menu of movie munchies including: mac n’ cheese balls, crispy salt and pepper squid, three types of sliders and tasty Spanish churros.
There’s something for absolutely every kind of movie maniac and film fanatic in the final month of Moonlight Cinema. Gates are open an hour to an hour and a half before the film starts so grab all your mates, snap up your grassy patch and lay back for fun, food and films under the stars!
