I was asked to test this Babymel Lily bag and the first thing that I liked about it when I saw it is the colour – coral.
It’s a gorgeous summer colour that immediately made me feel happy about using it. That may be just me, but it’s a colour that has a natural pick-me-up. It also has a cut small leather bow at the front which works as a magnetic fastener for the front compartment. There are another two side compartments on the outside which can fit a phone and other small items.
This is also a practical baby bag. It’s not super-expensive (retails about $145) and is made from durable, wipeable fabric that is so easy to keep clean. Because of its fabric, you feel as if you can dish-out almost any sort of action to it and it’s not going to tear or break. Inside, it’s a similar fabric so you know if something spills or soils inside, you’re not going to ruin the bag to get it clean again.
Inside, there are two elasticised compartments, an insulated bottle holder with a drawstring top that works easily and well. There is also a handy padded changing mat that fits neatly into one of the elasticised compartments with a Velcro fastener and another zippered pocket. There is also a stroller strap that is easy to attach and secure.
I have used the Babymel Lily now for about one month and take it everywhere – shopping, gym, mothers’ group get-togethers, anywhere I go with the baby. I wouldn’t use it to go out on the town, but I do still use it, for example, on the weekend if my husband is home to look after the baby and I catch up with friends mainly because it has such a good summer look, and I am a little too lazy to move my personal things from one bag to the next!
The size is good – about 45cm in length, so it doesn’t look ridiculously oversized, but it’s still big enough to hold everything you need for baby and you.
Five stars.
