Sam Moran has accepted his first job since leaving The Wiggles.
The former Yellow Wiggle will front a children's TV show for Foxtel's Nick Jr.
The new program, set to air in April, will see Moran return to his love of children's entertainment - performing original songs as a Dr Doolittle-style character.
The show will set Moran in direct competition with his old employers, who sacked him last year when he was replaced by founding Yellow Wiggle Greg Page.
"I don't see it that way (as competing). I think the more quality entertainment that's out there for children the better," Moran told News Limited newspapers.
"I had a few offers but I wanted to make sure it was the right project. When Nickelodeon came to me with this idea, it worked in well with the project I had already been developing myself.
"The songs are new. But it's still going to be the same old Sam that children have come to know."
Moran's axing from The Wiggles was met with dismay and sympathy from fans. The group has since undergone an overhaul with original members Murray Cook, Greg Page and Jeff Fatt replaced by Emma Watkins, Simon Pryce and Lachlan Gillespie.
